Our literacy intervention program is designed to ensure students develop fundamental skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening. Teachers use student assessment data to determine student participation in the program. The program covers students from years 1-6.

Students receive intensive small group or individual instruction with a tutor multiple times each work. During these sessions students are explicitly taught to say, read and write letter sounds, as well and blend and segment these. They are then able to use this knowledge to read and write words and sentences. Students have lots of opportunity to practice their skills to develop mastery. The tutor communicates with the class teacher to develop individual goals and track progress.
