Grades 3 and 4

Meet our Grade 3/4 Teachers

3/4  Program

In Year 3/4, students continue to develop their numeracy and literacy skills. They build on what they have already learned and begin to understand more difficult concepts. Students learn to recognise their personal strengths and challenges and identify goals that they would like to work upon. They learn to persist with tasks when faced with challenges and develop ways to adapt their approach when first attempts are not successful. Students identify and describe the factors that contribute to positive relationships with peers, other people at school and in the community. They learn to work in teams, work collaboratively, give feedback and use cooperative behaviours.

Students in Year 3 take part in the National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN). It is an annual assessment for students in Year 3, 5, 7 and 9 that cover skills in reading, grammar, writing, spelling, punctuation and numeracy.
